he is asleep in the bed behind me
actually re-asleep or back asleep if you will
since he was awake once already but decided that particular state of being was not quite what he was ready for yet today. so he sleeps.
curled in way that leaves the perfect spot for me between his arms
right up against his heart
where his sleepy breath will brush my cheek and tells me to stay exactly where i am
because why would anybody want to be some where else
when here and now is so completely perfect
